PERANCANGAN VIDEO MOTION GRAPHICS MEDIA EDUKASI PENGGUNAAN DENTAL FLOSS DALAM UPAYA PENCEGAHAN KARIES GIGI UNTUK ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR

ABSTRAK

Karies gigi merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan gigi yang masih
banyak dialami anak usia sekolah dasar akibat rendahnya pemahaman mengenai
kebersihan gigi, khususnya penggunaan dental floss sebagai pembersih sela-sela
gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang motion graphic sebagai media informasi
mengenai penggunaan dental floss untuk mencegah karies gigi pada siswa kelas V
sekolah dasar. Kajian pustaka yang digunakan meliputi teori motion graphic,
animasi, warna, tipografi, storytelling, karies gigi, dental floss, dan Taksonomi
Bloom. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan
data berupa observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Proses
perancangan menerapkan metode ADDIE yang terdiri atas Analysis, Design,
Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Hasil validasi oleh ahli materi dan
ahli media menunjukkan bahwa motion graphic layak digunakan sebagai sarana
penyampaian informasi. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa siswa mampu
mengingat kembali informasi mengenai karies gigi dan dental floss (C1),
menjelaskan kembali materi yang diperoleh (C2), serta mempraktikkan
penggunaan dental floss sesuai langkah yang ditampilkan (C3). Selain itu, siswa
menunjukkan respons positif dan antusiasme dalam mengikuti kegiatan yang
mengindikasikan ketercapaian ranah afektif A2 (responding). Dengan demikian,
motion graphic yang dirancang mampu menyampaikan informasi mengenai
pencegahan karies gigi melalui penggunaan dental floss secara menarik dan mudah
dipahami.

ABSTRACT

Dental caries remains one of the most common oral health problems among
elementary school children due to their limited understanding of oral hygiene,
particularly the use of dental floss to clean interdental areas. This study aimed to
design a motion graphic as an informational medium for educating elementary
school students about the use of dental floss to prevent dental caries. The
theoretical framework included motion graphics, animation, color, typography,
storytelling, dental caries, dental floss, and Bloom’s Taxonomy. This study
employed a qualitative research method, with data collected through observation,
interviews, documentation, and literature review. The design process followed the
ADDIE model, consisting of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation,
and Evaluation stages. The validation results from both the subject matter expert
and the media expert indicated that the motion graphic was appropriate for
delivering educational information. The implementation results showed that
students were able to recall information about dental caries and dental floss (C1),
explain the material in their own words (C2), and demonstrate the proper use of
dental floss according to the procedures presented in the motion graphic (C3).
Furthermore, students demonstrated positive responses and enthusiasm throughout
the activities, indicating the achievement of the A2 (responding) affective domain.
Therefore, the designed motion graphic effectively conveys information on
preventing dental caries through the proper use of dental floss in an engaging and
easily understandable manner.
