PROTOTIPE SISTEM DETEKSI KEBAKARAN DI RUANG PERANGKAT CATUDAYA BERBASIS IOT (INTERNET OF THINGS)

ABSTRACT
Fire hazards in power supply equipment rooms pose a significant threat to the reliability and continuity of telecommunication and information technology infrastructures. Excessive temperature caused by equipment overload or inadequate ventilation may lead to component failure, service interruptions, and potentially catastrophic fire incidents. Therefore, an intelligent monitoring system capable of detecting abnormal environmental conditions and providing automatic responses is essential to minimize these risks.
This research aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-Based Prototype Fire Detection System for Power Supply Equipment Rooms using an ESP32 microcontroller as the main controller, a DHT22 sensor for monitoring temperature and humidity, a relay module as the actuator controller, and a TEC1-12706 Peltier module equipped with a heatsink and cooling fan as an automatic cooling mechanism. The system utilizes Firebase Realtime Database as a cloud platform for real-time data storage and communication, enabling users to remotely observe environmental conditions through an internet connection.
The research methodology consists of requirement analysis, hardware and software design, system implementation, and functional testing. The DHT22 sensor continuously measures temperature and humidity inside the equipment room. When the measured temperature exceeds a predefined threshold, the ESP32 automatically activates the Peltier cooling module and cooling fan to reduce room temperature. Results demonstrate that the prototype successfully performs real-time monitoring, transmits data effectively, and activates automatic cooling when threshold is exceeded.
The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed prototype successfully monitors temperature and humidity in real time, reliably transmits sensor data to Firebase Realtime Database, and automatically activates the cooling system when the temperature exceeds the specified threshold. The implementation of IoT technology enhances monitoring efficiency, improves response time to overheating conditions that may lead to fire hazards, and contributes to the protection and reliability of power supply equipment through an effective early detection and preventive cooling mechanism.
