ABSTRAK

Perkembangan teknologi finansial (fintech) telah mendorong transformasi sistem pembayaran masyarakat menuju transaksi digital. Perubahan ini berimplikasi tidak hanya pada efisiensi keuangan, tetapi juga pada potensi pengurangan emisi karbon akibat berkurangnya kebutuhan operasional fisik sistem perbankan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengukur estimasi emisi karbon dari transaksi digital dan transaksi berbasis ATM di Kota Bandung; (2) menganalisis potensi pengurangan emisi dari skenario substitusi transaksi ATM ke digital; serta (3) mengidentifikasi faktor- faktor demografis yang memengaruhi frekuensi penggunaan transaksi digital. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, melibatkan responden masyarakat Kota Bandung. Bias ruang sampel diperbaiki melalui pembobotan post-stratification menggunakan data distribusi umur, pekerjaan, dan wilayah dari BPS 2024. Estimasi emisi dihitung dengan mengalikan jumlah transaksi dengan konsumsi energi per transaksi dan faktor emisi listrik. Analisis dilakukan melalui statistik deskriptif, simulasi skenario, pemetaan spasial, serta uji Kruskal– Wallis, Dunn’s test, dan regresi Negative Binomial

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emisi rata-rata per transaksi digital (0,00031 kgCO2) jauh lebih rendah dibanding transaksi ATM (0,0327 kgCO2). Simulasi skenario substitusi 100% transaksi ATM dengan digital berpotensi mengurangi emisi hingga 87,82 kgCO2, setara dengan 0,28 kgCO2 per responden per bulan. Analisis spasial memperlihatkan distribusi emisi yang bervariasi antar kecamatan, sedangkan uji demografis menemukan bahwa faktor pekerjaan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap frekuensi penggunaan transaksi digital, khususnya pada kelompok wirausaha (IRR = 2,17; p < 0,05). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa adopsi transaksi digital berkontribusi nyata terhadap upaya dekarbonisasi perkotaan, serta menyoroti pentingnya dukungan kebijakan untuk mempercepat inklusi keuangan digital.

ABSTRACT

The development of financial technology (fintech) has transformed payment systems toward digital transactions. This transformation not only enhances financial efficiency but also carries potential for carbon emission reduction by decreasing the reliance on physical banking infrastructure. This study aims to: (1) estimate carbon emissions from digital transactions and ATM-based transactions in Bandung City; (2) analyze potential emission reductions under different substitution scenarios of ATM to digital transactions; and (3) identify demographic factors influencing the frequency of digital transaction usage. A quantitative survey method was applied, involving respondents from Bandung City. Sampling bias was corrected through post- stratification weighting using age, occupation, and district distribution data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS, 2024). Emission estimates were calculated by multiplying transaction frequency with energy consumption per transaction and electricity emission factors. Analyses included descriptive statistics, scenario simulations, spatial mapping, Kruskal–Wallis test, Dunn’s post-hoc test, and Negative Binomial regression.

The results indicate that the average emission per digital transaction (0.00031 kgCO2) is significantly lower than that of ATM transactions (0.0327 kgCO2). A full substitution scenario (100% ATM replaced by digital) could reduce emissions by up to 87.82 kgCO2, equivalent to 0.28 kgCO2 per respondent per month. Spatial analysis revealed uneven emission distribution across districts, while demographic analysis highlighted occupation as a significant determinant, with entrepreneurs showing higher adoption of digital transactions (IRR = 2.17; p < 0.05). These findings emphasize the role of digital transactions in supporting urban decarbonization and underline the necessity of policy interventions to accelerate digital financial inclusion.
