ABSTRAK

Sistem presensi tradisional seringkali menghadapi berbagai permasalahan seperti kehadiran yang tidak akurat, keterlambatan pencatatan, serta minimnya transparansi kepada orang tua siswa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, dibuatlah sebuah sistem presensi otomatis menggunakan sensor sidik jari berbasis ESP32 yang terintegrasi dengan Firebase dan notifikasi WhatsApp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem presensi real-time yang dapat mencatat kehadiran siswa secara otomatis melalui verifikasi sidik jari. Setelah sidik jari dikenali oleh sensor AS608 dan diproses oleh ESP32, data dikirim ke server melalui koneksi WiFi dan dicatat pada Firebase Firestore. Selain itu, sistem ini juga mengirimkan notifikasi ke WhatsApp orang tua siswa sebagai pemberitahuan kehadiran atau kepulangan. Notifikasi dikirim secara otomatis menggunakan library Baileys di sisi backend Node.js. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu mencatat kehadiran siswa dan mengirimkan notifikasi WhatsApp dengan rata-rata delay di bawah 3 detik, tergantung pada kestabilan koneksi internet. Dengan sistem ini, kehadiran siswa dapat dilihat secara real-time kepada orang tua.

ABSTRACK

Traditional attendance systems often face various problems such as inaccurate attendance, delays in recording, and a lack of transparency to parents. To overcome these problems, an automatic attendance system was created using an ESP32-based fingerprint sensor integrated with Firebase and WhatsApp notifications. This study aims to design and implement a real-time attendance system that can automatically record student attendance through fingerprint verification. After the fingerprint is recognized by the AS608 sensor and processed by the ESP32, the data is sent to the server via a WiFi connection and recorded in Firebase Firestore. Additionally, the system sends notifications to parents' WhatsApp accounts as attendance or dismissal notifications. These notifications are automatically sent using the Baileys library on the Node.js backend. Test results show that the system is capable of recording student attendance and sending WhatsApp notifications with an average delay of less than 3 seconds, depending on the stability of the internet connection. With this system, student attendance can be viewed in real-time by parents.
