ABSTRAK

Proses pembaruan aplikasi secara manual pada perangkat Android TV dalam skala besar, seperti di lingkungan hotel, memiliki tantangan signifikan dari segi efisiensi waktu, keterlibatan teknisi, serta konsistensi versi aplikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan metode Over-the-Air (OTA) Update menggunakan tools Shorebird pada aplikasi IPTV "InfiniTV" berbasis Flutter yang dikembangkan oleh PT. Enovatte Rekayasa Digital. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan pre-eksperimental menggunakan desain one group pre-test post-test, yang membandingkan antara metode pembaruan manual dan metode OTA dari sisi waktu pembaruan, intervensi teknisi, serta ukuran file pembaruan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa OTA Update menghasilkan efisiensi waktu pembaruan sebesar 53.00%, pengurangan waktu intervensi teknisi hingga 48%, serta efisiensi ukuran file pembaruan mencapai 90.62% dibandingkan metode manual. Selain itu, analisis pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan persepsi teknisi terhadap efisiensi dan kemudahan proses update. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi Shorebird pada aplikasi IPTV secara signifikan meningkatkan efektivitas proses deployment dan dapat dijadikan solusi optimal bagi lingkungan hotel yang mengandalkan banyak perangkat Android TV.

ABSTRACT

Manual application updates on Android TV devices, particularly in large-scale environments such as hotels, present critical challenges in terms of time efficiency, technician workload, and version consistency. This study aims to implement an Over- the-Air (OTA) update method using the Shorebird tool on the "InfiniTV" IPTV application, developed using Flutter at PT. Enovatte Rekayasa Digital. The research adopts a pre-experimental approach with a one-group pre-test post-test design to compare manual update methods with OTA updates in terms of update duration, technician involvement, and update file size.

The results indicate that OTA updates provide a time efficiency of 53.00%, reduce technician intervention time by 48%, and deliver a file size efficiency of up to 90.62% compared to manual methods. Additionally, pre-test and post-test evaluations show improved technician perceptions of update efficiency and ease. These findings confirm that Shorebird integration significantly improves deployment effectiveness and offers an optimal solution for hotel environments that rely on numerous Android TV devices.
